In today’s Super-G race in Crans-Montana, on an extremely difficult course, the best Bosnian alpine skier, Elvedina Muzaferija, placed 22nd and achieved the best result in the current FIS World Cup season. After the 24th place in St. Moritz, when she won seven points, today’s result brought her another nine and returned her to the top 30 skiers in the discipline.
Muzaferia started today’s race with number 27 and at the finish had the eighteenth time, 1:18.78, that is, one second and 44 hundredths of a second behind the first-placed Malorie Blanc. Sofia Goggia finished the race in second place, Breezy Johnson was third, and Slovenian skier Ilka Štuhec finished thirteenth, one second behind Blanc.
Muzaferia assessed this race as very important before the Winter Olympic Games, which begin on Friday, February 6.
“The gaps were very small and the race was, so to speak, tight. I am very satisfied with the skiing in the upper part of the track, good speed, good technical part. However, entering the flat, I did not do the jump with a good line and I lost speed before the second flat. There, so to speak, I fought with one part of the track until the finish line. All in all, I am satisfied. This is a good result before the Olympic Games,” says Muzaferija.
After today’s race, the BH team made a decision on the performance of Elveda Muzaferija in the Super-G races of the FIS Europa Cup, which will be held on February 2 and 3 in Sarntal (Italy).
“Now I am traveling to Sarntal, where on Monday and Tuesday I will race the FIS Europe Cup in the Super-G discipline, and right after that we will go to Cortina”, adds Muzaferija and calls on everyone to support the BiH team at the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.
