Ljubuški is in Cooperation With Croatian Municipalities in Preparation of Business Zones

ljubuškiMunicipality Ljubuški and two neighboring municipalities from Croatia have announced the implementation of a business idea that seems almost incredible at this time. At this border area, a business zone would be built that would bring an economic boom to the entire area. There would also be 3.000 new jobs, according to portal Indikator.ba.

“Project BEPO is very complex and in it, fortunately for us, the business zone “Zvirići” will be a part of the project, which is at the intersection of the corridor, located some 15 kilometers from the port of Ploče’’, said Mario Bajto, the Head of the Office for Strategic Planning and Local Development in Ljubuški.

This is an opportunity, because with the project an inter-modal hub would be established, a network of road and rail terminals and it would be connected to the port infrastructure in Ploče. This would increase the trade between the two countries, and would attract foreign investors.

“There is not much money here. Now we have EU funds, especially when we speak about IPA cross-border cooperation of Croatia and B&H, and we have to be more included-municipalities, ministries, to apply to as many projects as we can and in this way to attract more resources’’, said Ivan Jelčić, the Director of Development Agency ZHK (HERAG).

In the business zone in Ljubuški works on the alignment of the field are taking place. The tender is closed for the allocation of land. There are great opportunities, if they know how to take advantage’’, said REDAH.

“In B&H we have not prepared an ambient, to actively attract them here, to motivate them’’, said Ivan Jurilj, the Director of the Regional Development Agency.

This space is important for trade and transport of goods to Europe. With this project, B&H would become a strategic point for better access to financial flows and EU support.
