The Italian police fined a 103-year-old woman who drove with an expired driver’s license, writes the “Guardian” newspaper.

At 1:00 a.m., the police received a report about a person endangering the environment and driving unsafely in the town of Bondeno in the north of Italy, a town of about 13,000 inhabitants not far from Ferrara, in the Emilia Romagna area.

When they arrived at the scene, the police were surprised to see when the driver was born.

Giuseppina Molinari, known as Gioze, was born in 1920. She was driving to Bondeno to meet friends and probably got lost in the dark and didn’t know the way back.

Her driver’s license expired two years ago. In Italy, drivers over the age of 80 must pass a medical examination every two years and get a new license.

Molinari was fined, and the police took her home.

“I will buy myself a Vespa. In the meantime, I will visit my friends by bike,” she told the local newspaper “La Nuova Ferrara”.

The mayor of Ferrara, Alan Fabri, said that he would rather give Gioseia a medal than a fine for her approach to life.
