In Bosnia and Herzegovina, during the first six months of 2025, 10,831 live births were registered, which compared to the same period in 2024, shows a decrease in the number of live births by 2.79 percent, and 18,162 people died, which compared to the same period in 2024, shows an increase in the number of deaths by 5.14 percent.
The natural increase in the first half of this year was minus 7,331, while in the same period in 2024 it was minus 6,132, according to data from the Agency for Statistics of BiH.
During the first six months of 2025, 6,129 marriages were concluded in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which compared to the same period in 2024 shows a decrease of 4.13 percent.
During the first six months of this year, 1,009 marriages were divorced, which represents a decrease of 5.44 percent compared to the same period in 2024.
The reporting units for collecting statistical data on births, deaths and marriages are the registry offices in Bosnia and Herzegovina, while the reporting units for divorces are the courts competent for divorces in BiH.
