An exhumation process is underway at the site of Duboki Potok in the municipality of Knezevo, overseen and coordinated by the prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with an expert associate located directly at the site, is stated in the statment on Wednesday.
So far, several fragments of human bones have been found, which are presumed to belong to one person, and the search continues intensively.
According to operational data, the remains of Bosniak victims from the area of Kotor-Varos, who tried to get to Travnik via Mount Vlasic in 1992, could be found at this site.
The BiH Prosecutor’s Office stated that this is a very inaccessible location, in a mountainous area, and the support in the process of searching for remains is provided by the alpinist team of the State Investigation and Protection Agency – SIPA.
There is also a forensic pathologist, a representative of the IRMCT field office within the operational group for searching for missing persons “TERA”, representatives of the BiH Missing Persons Institute and the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), as well as representatives of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior.
