The European Commission submitted 14 additional questions for Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding red meat exports. The head of the EU Delegation to BiH and the EU Special Representative in BiH, Johann Sattler, who talked with the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Stasa Kosarac, expressed the expectation that the competent institutions in BiH will submit adequate answers as soon as possible.
Themeeting in the building of the EU Delegation to BiH followed after the BiH Veterinary Office, in cooperation with the BiH Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, submitted an answer to the questionnaire on the export of red meat from BiH to the EU on September 7, 2020.
Kosarac expressed hope that the EU institutions will also be agile, after BiH answers additional questions from the questionnaire for red meat exports, reports eKapija business portal.
Kosarac and Sattler also exchanged views on the possibility of exporting eggs from BiH to the market of EU member states. It was pointed out that it is necessary to improve the implementation of the salmonella control plan for BiH, and Kosarac announced that he would hold a meeting with the competent institutions from Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH in the next period to discuss official controls in order to effectively solve this problem.
Sattler also stressed the importance of soon adopting a strategic framework for tourism, as one of the most affected sectors due to the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
