Federal Minister of Tourism and Environment Edita Dapo said in an interview with TVSA that she hopes that Bosnia and Herzegovina could soon receive the Safe travel country certificate, which, according to her, would contribute to saving the tourism sector.
”We have decided to help five sectors, including tourism, among which 30 million BAM have been allocated. Although the Federal level is in charge of four- and five-star hotels, we have decided to help all hotels, tour guides, organizations and tour operators, as well as health tourism,” said Dapo.
She called on the cantons to help the caterers, who still did little.
”The hotels were empty and are currently the most endangered,” said Dapo and added that the development of USAID business guidelines during the pandemic is in progress.
”After a public hearing lasting 20 days, the Federal government should decide on that. If the guidelines are adopted at the state level, BiH could receive the Safe travel country certificate, which would save tourism somewhat. Dapo hopes this will be approved before the start of the winter season.
