He says that, according to unofficial information, 270 to 280 citizens of B&H currently reside in Macedonia, noting that the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Skopje is not authorized to collect such data, and that they do not posess the information on how many of them have acquired Macedonian citizenship.
According to the information currently available to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s ambassador to Macedonia, Zdravko Begović, there are no citizens of B&H who permanently reside in Macedonia, in the region of Kumanovo, but it is not known whether someone may be traveling or visiting”, said Regoje.
He stated that Ambassador Begović has departed for the region of Kumanovo, where he is trying to establish contact with the security authorities and obtain information about whether there may have been some citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who might need help.
On the website of the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Skopje, citizens of B&H were invited to report in case there may be any future need for assistance.
Regoje pointed out that, over the next few days, the Embassy of B&H in Skopje and the MFA will continue to monitor the development of the situation in Macedonia.
