The Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia, Davor Božinović, stated today in the Parliament that this year they recorded a 41 percent decrease in the entry of illegal migrants, while Bosnia and Herzegovina had an increase of 20 percent, which, he emphasized, “speaks to the magnitude of the engagement that, above all, the Croatian police , realizes”.
When asked by HDZ’s Ante Sanader about illegal migration and controls between neighboring countries, Minister of the Interior Davor Božinović emphasized during the current morning session of the Parliament that ‘Croatia is dealing with this problem best, and certainly best if we put it in the context of the challenges it is facing. Croatia by the size of the external land border and the Balkan route’.
“Croatia recorded 41 percent less entry of illegal migrants this year, while neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina, from which the largest number comes, has an increase of 20 percent. This speaks of the magnitude of the engagement that, above all, is carried out by the Croatian police,” he said.
He added that the police are working harder to stop migrant smugglers. “This year, we have 973 arrests of migrants, which is already 70 percent more than for the same period last year,” said the Croatian minister.
