Today, June 16, Konjic City Day was celebrated with a formal session of the Konjic City Council, a tour of martyrs’ cemeteries and memorials, and other appropriate activities.

On the occasion of Konjic City Day, a formal session of the Konjic City Council was held today, which was preceded by a tour of martyrs’ cemeteries and memorials, where honor was paid to all those who gave their lives throughout history in defense of BiH and Konjic.

The mayor of Konjic, Osman Ćatić, and the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, spoke at the session.

Congratulating Konjic City Day to the mayor and all Konjic residents, the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, emphasized how important joint work is in achieving goals.

“I am pleased to participate in the celebration of the Day of the City of Konjic and I want to say that we will use our fair and high-quality cooperation to support the equestrian economy, create better working and living conditions, create conditions to stop the departure of people from our country and create conditions for their return of those who have already done it. I want to continue to develop our cooperation in the future to the satisfaction of all citizens”.
Mayor Konjica Čatić reflected on the development of this city and its history.

“Ever since the time when the contract on the transfer of lead from Podvisko and Konjic to Dubrovnik was written, when caravans passed through this area, and Konjic was first mentioned in written documents, the generations that lived then built, settled, expanded and beautified it. it is up to us to be worthy of the efforts and efforts of our ancestors, who incorporated a part of themselves into the prosperity of Konjic as a community. Let each coming year be a year crowned with successes like we have recorded in recent years, even though we have faced global challenges, which we have with much effort and to all who live in this city or carry it in their hearts, I would like to send a congratulatory message for City Day, with the wish that we all be guardians of the values that Konjic has, so that we can leave them as a bequest to generations to come. And to all who visit and love this city, I want them to have even more reasons to know and love it,” he said.

At the session, which was attended by a large number of guests from all levels of government, a retrospective video was shown with reminders of the segments of work and activities of the City Administration and Konjic City Council.

On the occasion of the 640th anniversary of the first written record of Konjic, the Center for providing services to citizens at the Unis site was officially opened today, after which the New Business Fair “Let’s Link to Support Businesses” was held at Konjic High School.
