7.4 Earthquake struck Southern Argentina

A magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck southern Argentina today, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The quake struck 219 kilometers south of Argentina at 9:58 a.m. local time (12:58 GMT), at a depth of 10 kilometers, according to initial estimates.

No casualties were reported so far, and no tsunami warnings were issued, the report said.
