The Municipal Court in Sarajevo (OSS) has recently been facing the problem of frequent anonymous reports about mine-explosive devices placed inside the court building, which leads to a complete suspension of work processes in the court.
In 2022 alone, the Court received as many as 14 false reports about the explosive devices, and a total of 2,047 hearings were postponed, it was announced on the official website of the OSS.
As stated, in 2023, the trend of false reports about planted mine-explosive devices continued, and a false report was received on January 24, as a result of which 137 hearings were postponed in the OSS on that day, as well as on January 31, when 170 hearings were postponed.
Due to false reports, 93 hearings were postponed in the OSS on February 1, 108 hearings on March 14, 115 hearings on March 21, and 97 hearings were postponed on March 28.
In this regard, the Municipal Court in Sarajevo warns that from the beginning of the year until March 28, a total of 720 hearings were postponed due to six false reports about placed mine-explosive devices.
“Such a frequent occurrence causes the evacuation of all employees of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, which certainly affects the results of the work of judges, court departments and the court as a whole,” they state from this court.
At the same time, they remind that the counter-sabotage (KDZ) inspection of the Palace of Justice (area approx. 12,700 m2) lasts three to four hours on average, and that judges of the OSS last year were absent from work for as many as seven working days due to false reports.
As they further state, in this way large material costs are caused to the court, as well as costs to the parties who could not attend the hearings due to reports, or were denied services at the Land Registry Office, the Department of the Registry for Enrollment of Legal Entities and other services within this court.
Therefore, the Municipal Court in Sarajevo appeals to the competent institutions to undertake activities to prevent the increasingly frequent, complete suspension of the work of the Court, caused by anonymous reports about explosive devices.
