A five-year-old girl from Germany, a victim of international human trafficking, was located, identified and cared for in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, announced the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The prosecutor from the Human Smuggling and Human Trafficking Department of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH coordinated the activities in cooperation with the Service for Affairs with Foreigners of BiH and the Border Police of BiH, who during the control of goods and passengers of the regular bus line at the Brod border crossing discovered and identified the victim of international trafficking through detailed analysis. to people.
The identified victim is a five-year-old girl, who was accompanied by a foreign citizen, who was detained at the Service for Affairs with Foreigners of Bosnia and Herzegovina by order of the acting prosecutor. In accordance with judicial guidelines for the protection of victims of human trafficking, the victim was adequately cared for and placed in a safe house, according to the statement.
The victim was assigned a special guardian for unaccompanied foreign children and victims of child trafficking.
The mentioned girl is in the search database for persons wanted by international institutions. The acting prosecutor is in constant communication with the competent prosecutor’s office and the police in Wiesbaden (Germany).
Activities are underway to return the child to the mother.
