A large Part of Sarajevo is without Water Today

Today, urgent work will be carried out to repair the damage to the main distribution pipeline DN 1000 at the junction of Safeta Hadžića and Sulejmana ef. Musića streets, which will leave most of Sarajevo without water.

This is the main distribution pipeline that dates back to the 1970s and distributes water from the largest reservoir Mojmilo to the central part of the city and other reservoirs, according to the Cantonal Public Utility Company “Vodovod i kanalizacija Sarajevo.”

“Due to the necessity of an urgent intervention and the complexity of the intervention, from 9 am, water distribution in most of the city will be carried out under reduced pressure, which may result in certain parts of the city at higher elevations and on higher floors being left without water,” according to the ViK.

The settlements where there will be disruptions and interruptions in water supply are: Alipašino polje, Alipašin most, Halilovići, Heco pijaca, Nova Otoka, Čengić Vila I and II, Otoka, Socijalno, Pofalići (UNSA campus), Dolac Malta, Hrasno, Hrasno Brdo, Šanac, (part of Kovačić and Vraca), Trg Heroja, Švrakino selo, Aneks, Grbavica, Vilsonovo šetalište, Soukbunar, Cicin han, Boguševac, Bistrik, Skenderija, the central part from Baščaršija to Marijin Dvor, Buća Potok, Briješće, Vitkovac, Zabrđe, Sokolje, Boljakov potok, Hrid and Alifakovac.

Completion of the works and full normalization of the water supply is expected after the completion of the works in the evening hours.
