A Magnitude 6.3 Earthquake struck northern Japan

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.3 struck northern Japan on Friday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

The quake’s epicenter was off the coast of Miyagi Prefecture at a depth of 50 kilometers, the agency said, adding that no tsunami warning was issued.
