A man, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, died on Friday after a wave pulled him into the sea while he was taking photos on the rocks at the foot of Dubrovnik’s walls, Croatian media reported.

The ships of the Port Authority and Maritime Police have been trying to pull the body out of the sea for hours, but due to extremely bad weather conditions, this is not possible yet, reports HRT.

The rescue services located the victim about 400 meters in front of the western entrance to the old town, and he was already showing no signs of life.

Along with the vessels of the Port Authority, there are also divers on the field.

According to the Dubrovnik portal, a local boatman was the first to arrive at the scene of the accident with a boat, but due to waves four to six meters high and extremely dangerous conditions, he was forced to stop participating in the rescue operation.
