Dzenad Dzino, a photojournalist from Jablanica who reports daily on his social networks from the field in Jablanica, which is the most affected by flash floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina(BiH), published an emotional video on his YouTube channelcalled ”Da se ne zaboravi” (”Let it be recorded”).
Dzino doesn’t want this to be forgotten, judging by the video and the message in the description below it, he wanted to send a message of unity that was visible all this time while the rescue and assistance to people who survived the floods, cleaning the terrain and finding the victims of which there were, unfortunately, the most in Jablanica, was going on.
Numerous rescuers from Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Slovenia and many other countries helped their colleagues in BiH in this mission.
Dzino combined it in his video with poignant depictions of Jablanica after the devastating floods.
“My dear friends Bosnians and Herzegovinians, Serbs, Croats, Slovenians, Montenegrins… Before you start hating each other again, know that there is a small town whose great misfortune united everything that just yesterday seemed to you that it could not be united. A city that will never be the same again. A city that lost a part of its soul, its youth overnight. He lost his fathers, mothers and his children… Everything disappeared in an instant and will remain written in eternity. Let it be recorded“, wrote Dzino.
Dzino published this video on October 12th (Saturday night), and in it, he edited footage from October 4th (the day after the floods) until Saturday. In the background of the video you can hear the touching lyrics of the song “Ruza” by BiH singer-songwriter Dino Merlin.
To recall, devastating floods hit the areas of Jablanica, Konjic, Kresevo, Fojnica and Kiseljak on the night of October 3rd to 4th. In addition to causing enormous material damage, the floods also took human lives and left many people homeless.
So far, according to official information, 25 people have died in the floods.
