A strong Earthquake hit the Indonesian Island of Sulawesi

Dozens of people were injured after a magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck central Sulawesi island in Indonesia, the disaster management agency said.

The agency said 29 people were injured, two of them critically.

The epicenter of the quake, which struck early this morning, was at a depth of 10 kilometers.

The quake struck the Poso area and was felt in nearby areas.

Indonesia is located on the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire, a highly seismically active zone where different plates in the Earth’s crust meet, causing earthquakes.
