The Israeli police and Israel’s General Security Service prevented terrorist attacks planned by members of the “Islamic State” on a police station and a football stadium in Jerusalem, according to a statement published on the police account on the social platform “X”.
“The Central District Unit in Jerusalem and the General Security Service prevented a terrorist attack by supporters of the “Islamic State” on the police station and the “Tedi” stadium. Three terrorists were arrested,” the publication stated.
According to the police, the attackers planned to plant an explosive device near the stadium. After the plan failed, the terrorists decided to carry out an armed attack at the same location, writes TASS.
The police specified that the organizers convinced the attackers to first travel to Africa, and then to Syria and Iraq for training, in order to organize terrorist activities in Israel and other countries.
Four people were detained during the operation.
