Additional 1.8 Million Euros allocated for Croat Projects outside the Republic of Croatia

The Central State Office for Croats Abroad allocated EUR 1.8 million for around 300 projects of interest to Croats abroad and 91 one-time grants to individuals living in difficult circumstances in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany and Kosovo.

Four organizations, or projects, received the maximum possible amount of 20,000 euros each, namely the Argentine-Croatian Chamber of Commerce – CACIC from Buenos Aires, the Association of Croatian British Professionals CIC from London, the Croatian National Council in Serbia, and the Association of Croatian-American Experts from the USA, it was announced on the official website of the Central State Office for Croats Abroad.

The projects behind which they stand are the expansion of the strategic plan for the visibility and presence of CACIC among different social groups; Ensuring a permanent space for the work of the Croatian supplementary school in London and the Joint Cultural Center of the Croatian community; The visibility of Croats in the Republic of Serbia and the Jubilee, 10th annual conference of the Association of Croatian American Professionals.

The Office received 17,500 euros each from the Croatian Cultural Center “Srijem” – the Croatian Home from Srijemska Mitrovica for the replacement of the roof on the home building and the Roman Catholic Parish of St. Dimitri from the same city for the project “Culture towards the preservation of Christian identity”.

Five projects received 15,000 euros each: Connecting and preserving Croatian culture and customs in the diaspora; Croats in Tarapaca: Teaching our history in schools; Klapa concert tour from Buenos Aires in Croatia and Help for Croatian families on the island of Margarita, sponsored by the Australian-Croatian club Braća Radić; Croatian home Iquique from Chile; Croatian Civic Association Jadran from Buenos Aires and Zdenac Association from Dugi Selo. The same amount was received by the Antun Gustav Matoš Foundation from Belgrade for its functioning.

Association Zavjet Gospi from Čitluk and DVD Jare from Široki brijeg each received 14,000 euros from the Office for a documentary film about the life and spiritual legacy of Fr. Slavko Barbarić and for the purchase of a fire truck.

Slightly less, EUR 13,750 each, was awarded to the Croatian Cultural Center “Bunjevačko kolo” from Subotica for the project Integration of cultural tradition into the national identity of the Croats of Bunjeva and the Croatian National Council of Montenegro for the project Historical and cultural heritage of the Croats of Boka Kotor – Publication of the book “Red Croatia” and Bust of King Tomislav and Croatian kings in Donja Lastva.

The Office allocated EUR 12,000 for eight projects, and EUR 10,000 for 12 of them.

The lowest amount, 750 euros each, was awarded to the Association Matica hrvatska from Tuzla for Danica Matice 2025 and Branka Martinović from Popovača for the translation of the book “Slika, konjanik, sat” into English.

He awarded a little more, 1,000 euros each, to the Croatian Kindergarten, elementary school and dormitory of Santovo from Hungary for the Days of the Croatian Language, to Matica Hrvatska from Orašje for the 7th meeting of poets in Orašje, and to Vera Fabris from Pula for the photo exhibition.

One-time grants, mostly in the amount of 700 euros, but also a few of 1,200 and 2,500 euros, were awarded by the Office to Croats living in difficult social, material or health conditions in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany and Kosovo.

The office allocated EUR 1.8 million based on the 2nd public call for reporting special needs and projects of interest to Croats outside Croatia, previously, based on the 1st call, it allocated EUR 1.5 million, which totals EUR 3.3 million.
