The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH) and EUFOR have officially kicked off the training for the exercise “Combined Response 26” which will culminate at the Armed Forces of BiH Training Area Manjača on 24 of April 2026. Hosted by AFBiH, this joint exercise is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen international military cooperation through combined training.
From 9 to 13 March 2026, troops from the 2nd Battalion of the 5th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH) and Italian troops from the EUFOR Multinational Battalion (MNBN), conducted joint training at the barracks in Kiseljak. The training focused on improving interoperability, strengthening cooperation and military decision-making process among participating forces in Peace Support Operations (PSO).
The intensive activity focused on enhancing PSO tactics, techniques and procedures at company level. The training included crowd control scenarios, the establishment and operation of temporary checkpoints, and basic Close-Quarters Battle (CQB) techniques, carried out through a simulated scenario.
The training also provides an opportunity for a professional exchange of information and best practice, particularly in decision-making under pressure and the application of PSO procedures in complex environments.
“Combined Response 26 offers valuable opportunities for shared learning, coordination in diverse security tasks, and strengthening trust between EUFOR and Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Continuous joint training remains essential for maintaining readiness and interoperability” said the Commander of the 2nd Battalion of the AFBiH, Lieutenant Colonel Borislav Miličević, together with the Commander of the EUFOR MNBN, Lieutenant Colonel Gianfabio Colella.
The success of these training activities, as well as the exercise as a whole, reflects the continued commitment of EUFOR and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina to maintain a safe and secure environment throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
