Once one of the world’s best footballers, Neymar Junior, at just 32 years old, has faced a complete career collapse and will be a free agent come January.
The management of Saudi club Al-Hilal has lost patience with him and decided to release him during the winter transfer window.
Neymar’s stint with Al-Hilal has been marked by injuries and fitness issues, and he recently returned to the field after recovering from an operation on his anterior cruciate ligaments.
In August 2023, Neymar joined Al-Hilal from PSG for 90 million euros, but he has played only seven matches for the Saudi club, scoring just one goal.
With Neymar’s departure, Al-Hilal will have room to bring in a new star, and according to Saudi media, they are planning to initiate the process of signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Al-Nassr.
As for Neymar, he hopes for a return to Barcelona, though this isn’t feasible due to financial troubles in the Catalan club. His most realistic options are a move to Inter Miami or a return to his home club, Santos.
