The Federal Police Administration, under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, conducted today an extensive operational action called “Landfill”.
The action is aimed at combating corruption and other related crimes, and according to the authorities, it included several suspected persons and locations.
“This action is the result of a long-term and thorough investigation aimed at exposing organized activities that led to abuse of official authority and money laundering,” the Federal Police Administration announced.
By order of the Cantonal Court in Zenica, police officers searched nine locations in Zenica-Doboj Canton, Sarajevo Canton and Posavina Canton. On that occasion, five persons were deprived of their liberty: E.V. (1965) from Sarajevo, M.N. (1989) from Žepč, B.Z. (1988) from Odžak, R.K. (1973) from Sarajevo and M.M. (1975) from Sarajevo.
“The suspects are under investigation for participating in corrupt activities related to the construction of the highway section, and their criminal activity has caused great damage to state institutions and citizens,” the police said in a statement.
After processing at the premises of the Federal Police Administration, the suspect will be handed over to the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Zenica-Doboj Canton for further proceedings.
We remind you that along with Elmedin Voloder, Marin Nikolić from Žepče, Boris Zekić from Orašje, and Reuf Kadrić, an employee of Autoceste FBiH, were arrested. Among those arrested is a citizen from Sarajevo, Mustafa Musabegović.
