The Israeli army has ordered Palestinians living in the eastern neighborhoods of Han Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, to evacuate immediately, despite earlier claims that the area is a humanitarian and safe zone.

Israeli army spokesman Avikaj Adrae claims that “the presence of multiple military operations and rocket fire from the eastern part of the humanitarian zone made it dangerous to stay there.”

“Therefore, the army calls on residents in the eastern districts of Han Yunis to evacuate immediately to the newly designated humanitarian area in Al-Mawasi,” Adrae added.

Two weeks ago, the Israeli army committed a massacre in Al-Mawasi, which it claimed was safe, resulting in the death of 90 Palestinians and the wounding of 300.

A series of airstrikes were carried out on tents and shelters for displaced persons.

In violation of a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire, Israel has faced international condemnation amid its continued brutal offensive on Gaza since the October 7 attack by Hamas.

Since then, nearly 39,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed and more than 89,700 wounded, according to local health authorities.

More than nine months after the Israeli attack, large parts of Gaza are in ruins.

Israel has been accused of genocide by the International Court of Justice, whose latest ruling ordered it to immediately halt its military operation in the southern city of Rafah, where more than a million Palestinians sought refuge from the war before it was attacked on May 6, AA writes.
