Ambassador Fletcher Burton: Continue Partnership Between OSCE Mission and City of Sarajevo

The Mayor of Sarajevo Ivo Komšić received today the Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH Fletcher Burton, who thanked the Mayor for the welcome and contragulated him on his appointment. “Sarajevo is a city that is recognized throughout the world. This city has its reputation, even a mystique. This is why in such a city the position of mayor is very important, and practical and symbolical’’, said Burton.

Burton said that the OSCE Mission would continue to be a partner of the City of Sarajevo in its activities and projects. “The OSCE is a mission of your city, your country. We will continue this partnership, to deepen it and to find new space for further cooperation’’, said Komšić in today’s meeting with Ambassador Burton.

It was jointly concluded that the city of Sarajevo and the OSCE Mission to BiH has to ensure quality communication, in terms of the Trebević lifts, the first Aarhaus Center in Sarajevo, and marking Earth Day through the “Sarajevo 2014” manifestation that would mark the 100 years since the beginning of the First World War, to establishing a link between Sarajevo and Eastern Sarajevo, the realization of joint projects in infrastructure, culture and sports through IPA funds with the goal to improve life quality of our citizens.
