Zlatko Lagumdžija met with Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres ending the two-day high-level meetings of the delegation of the Board of Directors and members of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center (NGIC) with the leaders of the UN and their organizations in New York.
The series of two-day gatherings under the title “Common Agenda: Renewal of Multilateralism” is dedicated to global challenges, climate change, peace, security and sustainable development, the Society of Shared Values Foundation announced.
On that occasion, Lagumdžija, in addition to Guterres, talked with key leaders of UN organizations: President of the UN General Assembly Dennis Francis, UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner and Undersecretaries of the UN Secretary-General, High Representative of the UN Alliance of Civilizations Miguel Angel Moratinos and the executive director of ‘UN Women’ Sima Bahous.
In his presentations, Lagumdžija paid special attention to the possibilities that sustainable development goals provide to the reform agendas of individual countries. He pointed to the challenges facing the Western Balkans in light of the aggression against Ukraine, as well as the possible consequences for the peace and security of the wider region.
