“Everything that I have heard from security officials-BiH Minister of Security, Director of Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies in BiH, Cantonal Police-is that they have been dealing with this issue, they worked on it on 6 June, and they think that the buildings are secure for all parliamentarians’’, said Ambassador Moon for Dnevnik 2 Federalne TV.
He assessed that is it of extreme importance for BiH parliamentarians to return to work as soon as possible, because a very important issue for the citizens of BIH is on their daily agenda, such as the unique master citizen number and the issue of military property.
“As far as I know, SDP BiH and SBB have a draft law that seeks to take into account the decision from 9 March 2012, and this is an issue that has to be solved quickly’’, said Ambassador Moon.
Commenting on the recent protests of BIH citizens in front of BiH institutions in Sarajevo, which was initiated due to the lack of adoption of a law on the unique master citizen number, the Ambassador said it was very important for all BIH citizens.
“This is a very important question, because everyone wants their children to have a unique master citizen number. But, this also shows the frustration of citizens because parliamentarians are not able to find solutions’’, added Ambassador Moon.
He said that BiH parliamentarians have not been able to find a solution for the progress of BiH towards NATO and the EU for three years.
“Some political parties are speaking and they see if they are able to find a way forward’’, added the US Ambassador.
