Ambassador Moon Visited USK and American Corner

The Ambassador of the US to BiH Patrick Moon met yesterday the Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton (USK) Hamdija Lipovača.

At the meeting they spoke about governmental reform, reform of the FBiH, the security situation and social-economic opportunities.

Prime Minister Lipovača said that the USK government is stable and that it is is fortifying implemented measures aimed at employment and creating new jobs.

“I presented to the US Ambassador our projects to support the development of small businesses, as well as our plans that are based on making bigger steps forward, such as buying capacity of companies in bankruptcy and former big companies that are, unfortunately, ruined in the process of privatization’’, said Lipovača.

Lipovača added that these activities have as its goal to offer ready infrastructure to interested business people, who have an interest to transfer a part of their business in the region to the USK area.

Considerable attention during the meeting was placed on the rule of law, reform process in BiH and constitutional changes in the FBiH.

At the conference that will be held in May, the proposals of local experts would be discussed in order to establish a constitution that would suit all constituent peoples in BiH.

“Today I repeated that I am available for assistance in the preparation of the reform process. Even at the time when I served as Mayor of Bihać, and in the position I am in today, constitutional reform must go forward and towards the abolition of cantons as a level of government”, said Prime Minister Lipovača.

After the meeting Ambassador Moon visited the American Corner and the University Library in Bihać, where he met with young people. He did not hide his enthusiasm for the meeting, as well as the efforts of young people to improve the situation in schools and the local community.

“They are the leaders of tomorrow, without prejudice of others and whatever is different’’, said Moon.
