Ambassador Ogawa said it was his great pleasure to have an opportunity to, together with the Minister Mektic, announce the completion of project and delivery of three special vehicles for rescuing in the event of floods, together with full equipment.
“You already know that Japan, unfortunately, often encounters natural disasters when it comes to earthquakes, volcanoes, typhoons and the like”, Ogawa said.
These three vehicles, whose total value amounts to nearly two million BAM, are provided within the so-called non-project aid of the Government of Japan in order to contribute to the strengthening of capacities of relevant institutions for flood defense. These technologically advanced vehicles produced in Japan can be used as a command center for managing operations of rescuing during floods, and are equipped with rubber boats, led lamps, air compressors, and full diving equipment.
End users of the equipment are the Centers of Civil Protection of the Republika Srpska and the FB&H and the Department of Public Safety of District Brcko B&H, whose directors/leaders also attended the ceremony and officially took over the equipment for permanent use.
