Croatian TikToker Andro Anic, while staying in New York, visited a cevabdzinica (cevapi place) in Queens called Sarajevo and shared what the cevapi are like in the “strangest city in the world”, saying that it was like going to Sarajevo.
“Get ready because it’s time for cevapi and burek in New York – you haven’t seen this yet. When you smell 10 cevapi with half of flatbread and onions – yes you heard right – in the strangest city in the world,” he stated at the beginning of the video.
He pointed out that it was “very cool” for him to see “cevabdzinica” written on the street, and even more pleasant when the workers greet you in our languages.
On the walls, you can see clippings of newspaper articles about ”cevabdzinica” itself, and the offer, according to the experience of TikTokers, is no different compared to those from the Balkans.
“On television – pay attention now – you can see Nova TV. Absolutely everything is served here. Not only this, but there is cold Cockta in the fridge,” he stated.
He admitted that he was skeptical, but that after eating a portion of cevapi, the impression was as if he had gone to Sarajevo. In the end, he also took the takeout burek and ate it in Times Square.
“I decided to treat myself with a view of Times Square while all the tourists were wondering what I was eating in the middle of New York. I’ll say just one thing: ‘Cevapi are conquering the world and we simply can’t live without them,’‘ he said at the end, Klix.ba reports.
