Another Body was pulled from the Pliva River

On Saturday, August 24, a tragic accident occurred at the Brana swimming pool in Jajce, resulting in a fatal outcome. Two people from Donje Vakuf, Esad Čorhusić (born in 1963) and Ajdin Kos (born in 2002), lost their lives due to drowning, writes Jajce Online.

Divers from Scotland happened to be diving in the area. They spotted the body of a middle-aged man and immediately informed the Jajce Police Station, which then contacted the Mountain Rescue Service – Jajce Station. Last night, around 8 p.m., a member of the Mountain Rescue Service, who happened to be at the Brana swimming pool, found the body of Esad Čorhusić at a depth of 4 meters in the Pliva river.

After Esad Čorhusić’s body was pulled from the river, it was discovered that Ajdin Kos, his younger sister, was also with him. Both of them had arrived to swim by bus from Donji Vakuf the previous day.

Due to the late knowledge of the accident, the search for the second body was not immediately possible. The search continued this morning, when members of the diving team of the Jajce Mountain Rescue Service spotted the body of Ajdin Kos at the Brana bathing area and pulled him to the surface.

“We also found another body and handed it over to the police. Unfortunately, someone has to do that part of the job as well. The tragedy is great because it is a young man. One started to drown, and the other tried to help, but in the end they both sank. According to according to the information I have, the younger of the two was a weaker swimmer, but that’s just an assumption, said the president of the Mountain Rescue Service”, Jajce Station Safet Karadžić.

The investigation into the circumstances of this tragic accident is ongoing, and the investigation at the scene of the accident is being carried out by members of the Jajce Police Department.

The cantonal prosecutor on duty was also informed about the incident.
