Arabs building Tourist Settlements in Sarajevo, Czechs in Trebinje

Foreign Investors in B&H faktor.baTourist settlement “Sarajevo Resort”, located in Osenik, Municipality Hadzici, entered the terminal stage of construction and the opening of this grand complex will soon be organized, according to the Kuwaiti investors.

“Sarajevo Resort” has 160 facilities arranged around an artificial lake which covers an area of 12.000 square meters.

It will dispose with all recreational and entertaining amenities: two covered swimming pools, courts for football, basketball, volleyball, halls for billiard, table tennis and other games, as well as with a supermarket. Realized investments amount to nearly 50 million BAM until now, which represents one of the biggest foreign investments in B&H in this year.

The mountain beauties of B&H, as well as its geographical position in the vicinity of the Adriatic Sea, have been attracting the foreign investors, who want to give their architectural stamp to this part of Europe, for more than two decades.

“Sarajevo Resort” will be an oasis for the guests from Middle East, who will find peace and enjoyment during summer months near the Olympic Mountains Bjelasnica and Igman, as well as the capital of B&H, Sarajevo. Resort is a purpose-designed settlement which will provide accommodation for 1125 persons in 160 facilities among which, besides the residential facilities, supermarkets, sports courts, pools, children’s playgrounds, and similar additional amenities necessary for a modern and luxurious life will be located.

And while the rich men from the Middle East are buying land around the capital, a real craze for old houses is happening in Trebinje, mostly searched for by the investors from the Western Europe, more precisely the Czechs. The realtors say that mostly Czechs were buying the old houses in Trebinje this summer. There is a great demand for old, stone houses. Only in August this year, the buyers from the Czech Republic bought several old houses in the suburban settlement Pridvorci and, according to the announcements, they will be buying more. A couple of days ago, one agency sold three old houses in the settlement Pridvorci to a married couple from the Czech Republic, who are even looking for the fourth one which they intend to renovate and, for starters, rent to their friends.

Namely, the Czechs intend to deal with eco-tourism, so a large number of them is interested in this sort of purchase. The surroundings of Trebinje are interesting to many. To the foreign buyers, the most interesting settlements around Trebinje, besides Pridvorci and Zasad, are Cicevo, Petrovo Polje, and a part of local community Lastva, at the border with Montenegro.

The greatest reason of the interest of the Europeans in this part of B&H is the vicinity of the sea and cities such as Dubrovnik and Herceg Novi, as well as healthy climate and water. It is known since earlier that many Dutch people were buying land in Ivanica. The village Ivanica is located in the hills above the Dubrovnik Riviera, on which a beautiful view stretches. Ivanica is in the bordering area between Croatia and B&H, from the Herzegovinian side, five kilometers away from the sea and eight kilometers away from Dubrovnik. The closest city in B&H is Trebinje, 15 kilometers away from Ivanica. Ivanica is a very peaceful place, which makes it an ideal spot for a real holiday.
