Even though the European Union (EU) is facing a shortage of medicines, the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) said to agency Fena that the shortage in the territory of our country has not yet been recorded.
“On the territory of the EU, according to the information we have, there are no analgoantipyretics and antibiotics, especially in pharmaceutical forms intended for the pediatric population, i.e. children. However, our market is supplied with medicinesfrom domestic manufacturers, as well as from non-EU countries,” they clarified from this Agency.
More precisely, our market is not limited to pharmaceutical manufacturers based in the EU.
“Our agency monitors medicine shortages and information about them is publicly available on our website. For the most part, there are no reported or recorded serious problems with the availability of medicines in the market of BiH,” they emphasized.
The Lupriv Pharm Mostar pharmacy said that the supply situation in the field is in order, but that there are minor defects.
“We have an orderly supply of medicines that our suppliers deliver to us every day. We monitor the situation in the EU, and there are minor defections, which have happened before in practice. If a medicine is currently defective, we have substitute medicines of the same generic”, they added.
Finally, they stated that they are aware that things are changing very quickly in recent months and that they cannot say with certainty what to expect, but they noted that the situation is stable for now.
