The Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide and the Association “Movement of Mothers of Srebrenica and Zepa Enclaves” believe that the marking of the anniversary of the formation of the Third Infantry Regiment of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH), which inherits the tradition of the so-called Army of the Republika Srpska (VRS), an army that was, according to the judgment of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), convicted of committing genocide, was an opportunity to once again hear that “RS is exclusively Serb, and the VRS a liberation army, which defended itself and attacked no one.”
“At the same time, in Bratunac, a six-month-old baby was buried, a victim of that same ‘liberation’ army, an army whose entire political and military command structure was convicted before international courts for crimes against humanity and genocide. If crimes and the denial of the right of another to live and work are still called ‘liberation and defense,’ then the current political and military leadership from RS will suffer the same fate as Karadzic, Mladic, Krajisnik, Plavsic…,” they stated in the press release.
The associations support the state institutions to, as they emphasize, persist to the end in documenting and prosecuting all those who endanger the constitutional order of BiH and peace in the Balkans and Europe.
“The court proceedings in The Hague lasted 30 years, but in BiH they will last much, much shorter for those who continue the policies of Slobodan Milosevic and Radovan Karadzic,” stated the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide and the Association “Movement of Mothers of Srebrenica and Zepa Enclaves.”
