The pharmaceutical company “Astra Zeneca” announced the withdrawal of its vaccine against the coronavirus from the global market.
The withdrawal comes after the company recently admitted that its vaccine can in rare cases lead to fatal blood clots.
The unnamed spokesman stated that since the beginning of the corona virus pandemic, various variants of vaccines have been developed, which led to a drop in demand for the “vaxsevria” vaccine, which is no longer produced.
He referred to independent estimates that more than 6.5 million lives were saved in the first year of vaccine use alone, and that more than three billion doses were delivered globally, “RT” reported.
The “Astra Zeneca” vaccine was released on the market in early 2021, shortly after the World Health Organization declared the corona virus a global pandemic.
Astra Zeneca voluntarily withdrew its marketing authorization for the European Union in March.
