The pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca has admitted that its vaccine against the corona virus can cause an unusual side effect called “thrombocytopenia syndrome” (TTS), reports the British newspaper “Telegraph”, citing court documents.
The report states that the vaccine can cause blood clots in patients, as well as low platelet counts, which in some cases have seriously harmed the health or even caused the death of those vaccinated.
The potential complication has been cited as a possible side effect of the vaccine, and AstraZeneca first admitted it in court in February.
TTS has been observed in some people who received the vaccine, developed in collaboration with the University of Oxford to combat Covid 19, so in Great Britain, the European Union and Scandinavian countries, rare cases of thrombosis of the cerebral venous sinuses, as well as thrombocytopenia in patients, have been reported, “RT Balkan” reports.
The Telegraph reports that the admission comes at a time when the British company is facing a series of lawsuits over injuries and deaths linked to the use of its vaccine.
So far, 51 lawsuits have been filed against AstraZeneca in which victims or their relatives are seeking up to $126 million in damages.
Jamie Scott, one of many to sue the British pharmaceutical company, claims he suffered permanent brain damage as a result of a blood clot after receiving the vaccine in April 2021.
In May of last year, his lawyers received a letter from AstraZeneca denying that the vaccine causes TTS.
Lawyers that the British pharmaceutical company’s vaccine is “flawed” and that its effectiveness is “greatly exaggerated”,
