Austrian police have officially confirmed that the attacker is one of 11 people killed in the attack on a high school in Graz, Reuters reported.
“Among the dead is the perpetrator of the attack on a school in the Austrian city of Graz,” the police said in an “X” order.
According to unofficial information, 28 people were hospitalized after the attack, four of whom are in critical condition.
An investigation into all the circumstances of the attack is underway.
Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Ambassador to Austria Siniša Bencun told Srna that, according to current information, no citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina were injured in the shooting in Graz.
“We currently have this information, until we receive official confirmation,” Bencun said.
The attacker, who was allegedly a student at BORG School, was found dead – he committed suicide in the school toilet. Media reports indicate that he was considered a victim of school violence.
It should be noted that police and special forces, including the Cobra unit, are currently securing the school area, while a search is underway at the school complex in the Lend district.
Police have urged citizens to avoid the school area and surrounding streets while the security operation and investigation are ongoing, but a large number of people have gathered outside the institution, waiting for further information.
