At least eight people were injured today in a knife attack in Southport, in northwest England, the local emergency services confirmed.
In their statement, it is stated that the injured were transported to three different hospitals.
Merseyside Police say a man has been arrested following a “major incident”.
The police state that they were called to a report of a stabbing and that a knife was seized.
The statement adds that there is no threat to the public, Reuters reported.
The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) has confirmed that at least eight people have been stabbed, including children who have been taken to Children’s Hospital.
