At least ten Palestinians were killed when Israeli warplanes carried out an attack on a group of children in the Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, according to medical sources.
Fighter jets targeted the area where children gathered in the Maghazi refugee camp, eyewitnesses said.
“Most of the victims were children playing,” an eyewitness told Anadolu.
Israel launched an offensive into the Gaza Strip after a cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on October 7 that killed around 1,200 people.
The number of people killed in attacks carried out by the Israeli army on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023 has risen to 33,843.
Israel’s war has pushed 85 percent of the population of the Gaza Strip into internal displacement with acute shortages of food, clean water and medicine, while 60 percent of the enclave’s infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed, according to the United Nations.
Israel is accused of genocide before the International Court of Justice. An interim ruling in January ordered Tel Aviv to stop the genocidal acts and take measures to ensure humanitarian aid is provided to civilians in Gaza.
