Austria Calls for Sanctions on Dodik Over Threats to BiH’s Stability

Austrian Minister of Foreign Affairs Beate Meinl-Reisinger commented on the social network X regarding the crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), caused by unconstitutional decisions of the authorities in the entity of Republika Srpska (RS), led by RS President Milorad Dodik.

Meinl-Reisinger spoke after her conversation with BiH’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmedin Konakovic.

“Thank you to my colleague Konakovic for an excellent discussion. Austria is one of the main partners for BiH’s European path. Reforms, the rule of law, and stability are key to this country’s future in the European Union (EU),” the Austrian foreign minister stated.

In the continuation of her post, she clearly identified the culprit for the current crisis in our country.

“The actions of RS President Dodik are a threat to the stability, territorial integrity, and constitutional order of BiH. He should be sanctioned accordingly,” Meinl-Reisinger stated.

She assumed her position as a member of the liberal NEOS party after the party became part of Austria’s ruling coalition, along with the SPO and OVP.
