Autumn has a special scent and color in the small village of Podmjedenik, located on the road from Pale to Bogovići.
From the mountain lodge “Stajna”, which is reached by a 17-kilometer-long road, you can best see how the morning mist slowly rises from the meadows and trees, transforming the landscape into a picture that lives with its own breath.
From the lodge, there is a marked path that leads to Novakova Pećina and Zečeva Ledenjača caves, below the slopes of Romanija.
On the other hand, from the road towards Bogovići, the path leads to the Sokolica Monastery and further to the Ozerkovići Monastery.
The peaks of Mjedenik, from where you can also see the slopes of Jahorina, Maglić and Durmitor, tower over everything like an old guardian of the forest and time, while Podmjedenik at its foot lives a quiet, autumn rhythm and testifies that simplicity is, in fact, the most beautiful, Srna writes.
