Avdic and Schmidt: Sarajevo must make stronger use of all Development Resources

The Mayor of Sarajevo, Samir Avdić, hosted Christian Schmidt, the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, today at the City Hall, and informed him about current infrastructure projects and visions for the future development of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On that occasion, it was emphasized that Sarajevo, with its rich potential, must make even stronger use of all development resources to improve the quality of life of its citizens.

Avdić particularly emphasized the “Clean Miljacka River” project as a priority, which will be one of the most strategically important projects in the mandate of the current City Administration.

The Mayor believes that its successful implementation can be ensured through synergy and joint action by the Sarajevo Canton, the City of Sarajevo, municipalities, and higher levels of government.

“The current situation on the ground clearly shows that it is high time for concrete action. Only by joining forces can we ensure that the Miljacka becomes a clean river along its entire length, and Sarajevo an ecologically clean, healthy and sustainable city,” he emphasized.

He also emphasized that the citizens are the most important resource of Sarajevo and that their needs and interests will be at the center of all activities and projects that will be led by this city administration in the next four years.

Mayor Avdić said that the city of Sarajevo remains open to cooperation with all relevant domestic and international partners, with the aim of building a modern, just and prosperous city, announced the Public Relations Department of the City of Sarajevo.
