
„Ay, Carmela“ is a story about an acting and love pair (Carmela and Paulino), on actors, entertainers, who in the circumstances of the Spanish Civil War were forced to put on a show as a last favor for the soldiers, prisoners of war that the fascists intended to shoot the next day. The play is intimate and a sentimental chronicle of memories and a hearty tribute to the art of honor and dignity, humanity and moral quality of the Anti-Fascist collective consciousness.
The play is found on the repertoire of SARTR since 1999, and performs in theatres in B&H as well as in all of Europe, and celebrates the great partner roles of Selma Alispahić and Dragan Jovičić who affirm all values as an actor, as well as the vitality and continuity of theatrical art.
The show stars: Selma Alispahić (Carmela), Dragan Jovičić (Paulino) and Jasenko Pašić (Gustavet).
