According to Hodžić, the stairs around Sebilj will be removed and replaced with new ones, made in a workshop, a public clock will be placed in the upper part of the square on Wednesday, the existing spotlights will be replaced, and stone benches placed in the upper part of the square.
The official opening of the Baščaršija Square is scheduled on Thursday, December 24, and it will be attended by the delegations of the City of Bursa and the Municipality of Osmangazi from the Republic of Turkey, that co-financed the works.
The reconstruction of the Baščaršija Square started on September 2 this year, and the works worth 1.2 million BAM were financed, in equal proportions, by the Osmangazi Municipality and Stari Grad Sarajevo Municipality. The project implementer is TIKA, and the contractor is the company Neimari Ltd. Sarajevo.
