Becirovic: Vucic’s Concept of ‘one people, one parliament, one leader’ is dangerous for all of Europe

On the occasion of the brutal violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the attempt to create a non-existent statehood of the Bosnian and Herzegovinian entity of RS, member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović said that the adopted Declaration of the so-called All-Serbian Parliament of Serbia and the Bosnian and Herzegovinian entity of RS represents a hegemonic state-institutional, legal-political act, directed directly against the constitutional order of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Dayton Peace Agreement, but also against several other states in the region.

“The President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, by advocating the realization of the dark concept of “one people, one parliament, one leader”, is endangering peace and security not only in the region, but also in the whole of Europe. Failure to understand the danger of this retrograde concept can have unforeseeable consequences. Vučić’s attempt to impose the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia as the statehood day of the Bosnian and Herzegovina entity of RS represents an unprecedented form of violation of international and national law. Vučić must know that there is no concept of statehood of the Bosnian entity of RS, because this entity has not been and will never be a state. It is an indivisible part of the internationally recognized state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The idea that one administrative-territorial unit takes the statehood day of another state as its statehood day is completely unfounded and untenable. Statehood Day is neither borrowed nor taken over. Only the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina can celebrate Statehood Day, as is the case with every other member state of the United Nations,” Denis Bećirović stated in a statement.

Bećirović warns that Europe and the world must know that there is no essential difference between the Program of the Chetnik Movement of Draža Mihailović from World War II and Vučić’s Declaration of the so-called All-Serbian Parliament, and that the only difference is that the Declaration is an official document of the state of Serbia.

“It was formally adopted for the first time as a program document of the state government of Serbia, which distinguishes it from earlier Greater Serbia documents. This is the first time that such a document has been given legal force, making it binding for the executive and legislative bodies of the Serbian government,” emphasizes Bećirović.

The member of the Presidency of BiH believes that it is time for the states that witnessed the Dayton Peace Agreement, the PIC states, the UN Security Council, the European Union and other international factors to wake up and stop this dangerous great-state madness, which threatens peace in the region.

“The revival of the criminal project of Greater Serbia requires a coordinated, unified and decisive response from the international community and democratic forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in order to prevent the great-state aspirations of the Republic of Serbia towards the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina from once again causing a tragic replay of the 1990s,” according to a statement by BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović.
