The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, met in Toronto with the Governor General of Canada, Louise Arbour. In addition to official and important political topics, the meeting was also marked by an extremely interesting and symbolic gesture.
Although the official details of yesterday’s meeting are already known to the public, Bećirović shared today the more relaxed side of the diplomatic meeting. The photos show him and Governor Arbor holding the soccer jerseys of the national teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Canada.
Bećirović presented the Canadian governor with a blue jersey of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the surname “Bećirović” and the number 26, while she handed him a red jersey of Canada with her surname “Arbour” and the same number 26.
Along with the photos, Bećirović sent a message in which he emphasized the honor of talking to Louise Arbour, emphasizing her role in international justice.
“It is a great honor to speak with the Governor General of Canada, the head of state, Louise Arbour.
Through her many years of advocacy for international justice, human rights and responsibility for war crimes, she has earned the deep respect of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Her dedication to universal civilizational values has left a deep mark on Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region,” said Bećirović.
