The summit on peace for Ukraine in Switzerland, in which the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović also participated, concluded with a communique in which many countries supported the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Chairman Bećirović joined the communique of the Peace Summit in Ukraine together with 80 other countries, in accordance with the key documents that trace the foreign policy of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fena news agency learns.
In the past year 2023, Bosnia and Herzegovina fully joined the foreign and security policy of the European Union, which is one of the obligations of our country on the way to full membership in the EU.
In addition to the address at the plenary session of the Summit in Switzerland, as well as the National Statement for the Media, the Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, also held numerous important talks on the sidelines of the Summit with the aim of strengthening Bosnia and Herzegovina’s alliance with friendly countries.
On the sidelines of the Summit, Bećirović spoke with, among others, Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Rishi Sunak, President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda. He also spoke with the presidents of Ukraine, Albania, Montenegro, Slovenia, Kosovo, Finland, Chile, and Ecuador, as well as with the prime ministers of Canada, Denmark, Croatia, and Estonia.
In the coming weeks, Bećirović will continue with intensive foreign policy activities and new visits to important world addresses.
