The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, spoke with the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, about the current political, security and other challenges in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, with special reference, as stated by Bećirović’s cabinet, to the anti-Dayton and anti-constitutional activities of the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s entity of the RS.
“During the several-hour conversation at the OHR, Bećirović warned once again with arguments about the dangerous content and consequences of the declaration of the so-called All-Serbian Parliament. One of the dangerous aspects of this declaration is the institutionalization of the relationship between the state of the Republic of Serbia and an administrative unit in another state. The announcement of the start of the implementation of the Vučić of the Greater Serbia and Anti-Dayton Declarations is the entry of members of the Serbian Armed Forces into the territory of the independent and sovereign state of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the statement said.
It is added that the declaration is dangerous not only for Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also for the whole of Europe, because it destroys the fundamental principles on which the European Union rests.
“There is no doubt, the declaration of the so-called All-Serbian Parliament threatens peace in the region, international law and the fundamental provisions of the Dayton Peace Agreement. The realization of this declaration would mean the complete destabilization of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. That is why it is necessary for the international community to stop its implementation with concrete steps,” said, among other things, Bećirović.
The High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, pointed out that the state borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina are internationally recognized and protected, and that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina is unquestionable. He emphasized that attacks on the Dayton Peace Agreement and the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina are inadmissible, and that all those who do so will bear the consequences.
The Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, said that strategic partners from the international community must take threats to the peace and constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina seriously, in order to prevent destabilization in the entire region.
“OHR, the Delegation of the EU in Bosnia and Herzegovina, EUFOR, NATO and the witness states of the Dayton Peace Agreement have all the necessary mechanisms to ensure its implementation and the preservation of peace,” stated the Cabinet of the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović.
