Chairman Bevanda informed the guest about the difficult situation in area of B&H which have been affected by severe floods. Moreover, he thanked to the member states of NATO and the support that they have provided and continue to provide.
General Rasmussen has expressed his condolences to the victims floods and added that the NATO member states and their partners are ready to respond to the needs of B&H. In addition, he added that they are ready to send helicopters and other types of humanitarian assistance.
On the meeting it was jointly concluded that the misfortune which befell Bosnia-Herzegovina is enormous, and that every help is welcomed. Moreover, they concluded that only with the coordinated efforts we can alleviate the consequences of the cataclysm which is still going on in the north of our country.
On the session, General Secretary was particularly interested in the activities which are realized on the path of Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as the activation of the Action Plan for NATO membership.
Minister Osmić and Deputy Minister Trišić-Babić were answering on the questions posed by the Secretary General, emphasizing that the process of joining NATO went on the upward trajectory. Moreover, they added that in the coming period the acceleration of posting of military assets can be expected. Minister Osmić emphasized the need to intensify efforts for registration of military property and the full readiness of Ministry of Defense to terminate this process. In addition, he said that he sees this problem as the question of a technical nature.
Moreover, NATO Secretary General Rasmussen added that he expects positive progress when it comes to the registration of military property. Also, he emphasized that NATO will continue to support the efforts of all countries aspiring to acquire status of full members.
According to Council of Ministers, the meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to NATO, Branimir Jukić.
