B&H to Chair the Council of Europe in May 2015

Bosnia and Herzegovina will take over the chairmanship of the Council of Europe in May 2015 which should be a great venture for the country, especially because the next time this country should have that opportunity in 25 years.

“It’s a fantastic chance to promote B&H within the international political plan; to show that our country has all the capacities needed for it to chair the Council of Europe (which counts 47 countries members) and to send through our priorities a message of how we see the Council of Europe at the moment. At the same time, we need to show that our country can be a solid and constructive factor within the European and international relations but not in a way that it always comes down to us but rather that we can steer some processes too. – stated Head of the Mission of B&H to the Council of Europe, Ambassador Almir Šahović.

According to his words, B&H should use this chairmanship period also in order to help itself as a country and to speed up certain processes.

From November 17^th, B&H will become deputy chair of the country chairing Council at the moment.
